Benefit crafts a luncheon to remember

May 20, 2014

The table decorations weren’t just for looks during the Crafting a Legacy spring luncheon at River Oaks Country Club benefiting Houston Center for Contemporary Craft. Each festive centerpiece, beautifully embellished by David Brown Flowers, was a work of art available for purchase.

Additionally, the Arts & Education silent auction featured works by 10 artists, and models from Neal Hamil Agency wore enticing jewelry and scarves from the center’s Asher Gallery.

Chairperson Victoria Lightman and honorary co-chairs Ginni Mithoff and Sara Morgan paid tribute to past board presidents Patrick Oxford, Joanna Wortham, Glen Eichelberger, David Pesikoff, Phyllis Childress and Paula Arnold. The luncheon raised about $275,000.

In the crafty crowd of 300: Kathrine McGovern, Julie Farr, June Christensen, Marshal Lightman, Karen and Harry Pinson, Anne Kinder, Haley Eichelberger, Rusty Wortham.
