Discover how to make your own sheets of colorful marbled paper at this month’s Hands-on Houston!
Learn how to add color to shaving cream in order to create an abstract swirly pattern for your paper. Experiment with this sensory activity by choosing from different neon and metallic colors. Once you remove the excess shaving cream, your unique design will be revealed. Your finished paper sheets can be used as stationery, a background for drawing, or as artwork!
Note: This activity will take place indoors and is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The event is subject to change or cancellation in response to current COVID-19 conditions.
HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free drop-in event held the first Saturday of every month. Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. Families and children of all ages are welcome to come any time between 11 AM and 3 PM and participate in a 15 – 20 minute activity. Materials are provided. This program supports HCCC’s mission to advance education about the process, product, and history of craft. Learn more here.
