samples of cosplay workshop faux finished jewels

This workshop has been cancelled.

Join HCCC and exhibiting artist Lutavia Cosplay for an in-person, cosplay prop-finishing workshop inspired by the current exhibition, Suited Up: Contemporary Armor Making in Texas. Learn to add basic faux-finishing techniques to a 3D-printed object in this socially distanced workshop in the HCCC Craft Garden. Practice faux-finishing methods, such as sanding, painting, and other techniques, and watch Lutavia, as she demonstrates more advanced techniques to create her detailed suits of armor, inspired by popular films and video games. Leave the workshop with your own cosplay prop and a new appreciation for the skills needed to make these fantastic costumes!

No experience necessary. All materials and tools are included. This workshop takes place in person and outside in the HCCC Craft Garden. Masks are optional for fully vaccinated attendees while in the garden, but all participants must wear a mask inside the building and practice social distancing. Space is limited to a maximum of 15 participants, who will be spaced more than 6 ft apart. If it rains on the day of the workshop, a make-up day will be scheduled.
