Join HCCC for the return of our HANDS-ON HOUSTON FAMILY FESTIVAL, a free community event for families and visitors of all ages.

This year, HCCC celebrates the Craft Garden and CraftTexas 2022 with indoor/outdoor hands-on activities, demonstrations by local artists, and food and refreshments from local vendors.

  • Discover how craft artists use recycled materials in their art by exploring the fall exhibition, CraftTexas 2022
  • Learn about upcycling and reuse through these hands-on activities:
    • Rope making with t-shirts
    • Mini polymer-clay pies in bottle caps
    • Mixed-media jewelry

PARKING: The HCCC parking lot will be blocked off for activities and food trucks, but street parking is available nearby.

The HANDS-ON HOUSTON FAMILY FESTIVAL is a super-sized version of HANDS-ON HOUSTON, a free craft-activity open house on the first Saturday of every month (11 AM – 3 PM). Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to current exhibitions and events at HCCC. Families and children of all ages are welcome, and materials are provided.

Hands-on Houston is generously supported by Strake Foundation.
