Join HCCC Curatorial Fellow Cydney Pickens and featured artists for a tour of Made to Last: The Legacy of the Jubilee Quilt Circle, an exhibition of work by the Community Artists’ Collective.
This in-person guided tour and conversation with Pickens and members of the Jubilee Quilt Circle will provide insight on the history and background of the processes, practices, and techniques that contributed to the quilts on view. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the methodology and ideology behind the works, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions.
Pickens commented, “It has been a joy to work closely with the artists of The Collective and participate in a community that is very supportive, open, and nurturing. I have so many stories to tell, and I am excited for some of the artists to share their personal stories and explain how quilting has impacted their life.”
The tour begins at 3:00 PM, followed by questions from audience members.
