Presented in conjunction with the fall exhibition, OBJECTS: REDUX, HCCC is pleased to present a conversation with HCCC Curator Kathryn Hall and Anna Walker, Assistant Curator of Decorative Arts, Craft, and Design at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH).The two curators will discuss the legacy of the seminal American studio-craft survey, OBJECTS: USA, and highlight a few pieces by contemporary makers included in the exhibition. Walker will also speak about the historic works on loan from the MFAH’s collection.
About Anna Walker
Anna Walker is the assistant curator of decorative arts, craft, and design at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH), where she is responsible for the exhibition, research and publication, the proposal of acquisitions, and development of long-term collections strategy of the craft collection. At Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, she served as curator from 2011 – 2013 and as curatorial fellow from 2009 – 2011. Future projects include co-curating the retrospective of fiber artist Olga de Amaral with Cranbrook Art Museum (opening in November, 2020) and serving as invitational curator for the 2020 NCECA Annual, The Burdens of History, at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond, Virginia.
