Join HCCC and Houston ToolBank in a rewarding endeavor to craft two picnic tables that will bring joy to our Craft Garden and a nearby elementary school.

Working as a group to construct a pair of tables, workshop participants will hone their woodworking skills to become proficient in using power tools like a miter saw, impact driver, power drill, and sander to expertly assemble the tables.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with the knowledge and confidence to create your own picnic table as well as a comprehensive checklist and instructions that will guide future projects. Your participation will also make a significant impact on the Craft Garden and a local school, leaving a lasting positive mark on your community!

Note: The workshop takes place in person and outside in the HCCC Craft Garden. Space is limited to a maximum of 10 participants. All participants will be required to sign a photo release and liability waiver. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes and be prepared to handle power tools. Houston ToolBank facilitators will be on site to provide guidance and assistance when necessary. Safety glasses, work gloves, and ear protection will be available for use but are optional.

This workshop was created in collaboration with Houston ToolBank, which serves community-based organizations by providing tools, equipment, and expertise to empower their most ambitious goals.
