Bryan Parnham is an artist and jeweler engaged with a synthetic practice of several media. His work is a presentation of photographs, produced by means of printmaking traditions, and realized often as jewelry objects.
Graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in metalsmithing, Parnham pursued the integration of photography and printmaking as a Core Fellow at Penland School of Crafts and independently in residencies at Mississippi State University and University of Georgia.
For his body of work, titled “Punctum,” Parnham was awarded the Art Jewelry Forum’s Young Artist Prize at Munich Jewelry Week in 2024. Since then, he has furthered his research into the combination of photography, printmaking, and metalsmithing by conducting workshops and experimenting with new applications of photopolymer and etching methods.
Parnham’s practice is motivated by the potential for innovation in the space between historically defined artistic genres. While at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft he will continue the chemical, material and conceptual studies involved in bringing together categorically disparate media.
