Volunteering with HCCC can be a great way to learn more about contemporary craft, give back to the Houston community, and even build your skills and resume toward a future career in the arts. We are always looking for new faces to join our wonderful team of volunteers.
An ideal volunteer will be interested in craft, reliable and punctual, and able to commit to 10-20 volunteer hours per year. If you are interested in applying to become a volunteer, please contact Jennifer Perales Garcia at jperales@crafthouston.org
We look forward to meeting you!
Lead insightful tours of our exhibitions, craft garden, and resident artist studios! Learn how to engage visitors of all ages as you both ask and answer questions about the artworks on view. All docents receive training on tour strategies and content prior to each new exhibition.
Participate in various events including exhibition openings and HANDS-ON HOUSTON, our monthly drop in activity for all ages. Volunteers engage in welcoming visitors, passing out materials, demonstrating a craft process, and assisting visitors of all ages.
Enjoy the sunshine and get your hands dirty as you weed, plant, and mulch while taking care of the fiber arts plants in our Craft Garden! Garden volunteers meet most Wednesday mornings.
Due to the popularity of the Craft Garden, we are not accepting garden volunteer applications at this time. Please check out our other volunteer opportunities.
