PUBLIC HOURS
Open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 AM – 5 PM.  (Closed Sunday and Monday.)

HOLIDAY HOURS FOR 2022
HCCC will be closed to the public November 24 – 26 for the Thanksgiving holidays, December 15 for a Staff and Board Retreat, and December 24 – 31 for winter holidays.

HCCC is also closed the following holidays:  Easter, Memorial Day, Juneteenth (June 19th), July 4th, and Labor Day.

Masks are optional for fully vaccinated visitors.   Review our Visitor Guidelines here.

The front entrance to the building is currently closed. Visitors must enter through the back entrance, adjacent to the free parking lot.

Houston Center for Contemporary Craft is located in the Houston Museum District, two blocks south of Highway 59, near Rosedale St., and between the Wheeler Transit Center and the Museum District MetroRail stops.

Visitors are encouraged to park in our free parking lot, located directly behind the building, next to the Craft Garden, off Rosedale and Travis Streets. Visitors should not park in the TSO parking lot on Main St.

Accessibility

The accessible entrance to HCCC is located in the back of the building, adjacent to the free parking lot mentioned above. To request accommodations for special needs, please contact William Soller at wsoller@crafthouston.org.

Directions

By METRORail, from Downtown or the Texas Medical Center
HCCC is approximately three blocks south of the Wheeler Transit Center station and eight blocks north of the Museum District Station.

From Montrose Boulevard

Turn east on Chelsea. Turn left on Travis. The parking lot is on the right, past the stop sign at Rosedale. Enter through the back door.

From Hwy 59, Northbound

Take the Main Street exit. Turn right on Main St, right on Rosedale (at Texas State Optical), and right on Travis to enter the parking lot. Enter through the back door.

From Hwy 59, Southbound

Take the Fannin Street exit. Turn left on Fannin, right on Southmore Boulevard, right on Main Street, left on Rosedale (at Texas State Optical), and right on Travis to enter the parking lot. Enter through the back door.

From Hwy 288

Take the Southmore Boulevard exit. West on Southmore Boulevard, right on Main Street, left on Rosedale (at Texas State Optical), and right on Travis to enter the parking lot. Enter through the back door.

From Hwy 45

Take Hwy 45 to Hwy 288 South. Exit Southmore Boulevard. West on Southmore Boulevard, right on Main Street, left on Rosedale (at Texas State Optical), and right on Travis to enter the parking lot. Enter through the back door.

Firearms, including without limitation handguns, shotguns, and rifles (whether concealed or openly carried) are prohibited on Houston Center for Contemporary Craft premises. See sections 30.06 and 30.07 for more information in English and Spanish. For more information about the Texas “open carry” law, please visit the City of Houston website: houstontx.gov/police/open_carry.
