Join ClayHouston and Kim Tompkins to learn about Social Media for Ceramic Artists. In this digital age, there are a multitude of venues for artists to promote their work: getting “likes” on Facebook, pinning on Pinterest, sharing photos on Instagram and interacting with fans on Twitter. In this basic introduction, Kim sorts through the most popular social media platforms and examine which services could best reach your potential customers. The group will discuss the pros and cons of each platform for ceramic artists and share resources to help you get started using social media for your business.

Kim Tompkins graduated from University of Houston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture with a concentration in ceramics. Formerly the workshop coordinator at the Ceramic Store of Houston, Kim is currently the program assistant for The Glassell School of Art and the co-owner of ClayGeek, which offers training and services in ceramic education.

The ClayHouston Summer Series is free and open to the public. Talks are held in the community room at Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.
