Please join HCCC for Studio Sessions, featuring current resident Abbie Preston Edmonson, a Houston-based ceramist and sculptor. Abbie’s work probes complicated topics like trauma, giving visual form to experiences that often take place invisibly. In addition to her works in clay, which are often combined with unconventional materials like toilet paper, Abbie incorporates writing into her pieces, giving them a distinctive narrative quality.
Tune into our Facebook Live page promptly at 6:00 PM to learn more about Abbie’s practice and influences and watch a special demonstration in her studio space! The event will also feature an audience Q&A session, so be sure to chime in with your questions via the chat function, or send them in advance to mheg@crafthouston.org by 12pm on April 15th.
Studio Sessions is an ongoing virtual series of live, informal studio visits featuring an HCCC resident artist joined in conversation by our curatorial fellow, María-Elisa Heg.
