This workshop has been cancelled.

Using a simple link, learn how to crochet using recycled and non-traditional materials, such as plastic grocery bags, t-shirts, and wire, with creative-reuse and exhibiting artist Calder Kamin.

In the workshop, explore and find inspiration in the current exhibition, Nothing Goes to Waste, which showcases artists who find exciting ways to reuse and repurpose materials, scraps, and castoffs through ingenuity. Learn about Kamin’s efforts to change cultural perceptions of waste, as well as her techniques for making plastic art, through demonstration and discussion. Participants will leave with their own plastic mushroom or accessory.

Materials are provided by Austin Creative Reuse, Spare pARTs, the Welman Project, and Goodwill.

Note: This event is subject to cancellation in response to current COVID-19 conditions. The workshop takes place in person and inside the HCCC building.
