Houston Center for Contemporary Craft is recruiting artists to teach outreach programs. Teaching artists work in HISD elementary schools to lead after-school art classes using craft materials. HCCC offers the following:
- Competitive compensation of $30/hr, plus mileage and partial prep-time reimbursement
- Teaching materials and supplies will be reimbursed or provided
- Orientation provided
- Teachers must commit to weekly one-hour classes for a semester (about 15 weeks)
- Classes are scheduled after school for about an hour between 3:00 and 5:00 PM
- Class size ranges from 5 to 15 students and grade levels K-5
- Some lesson planning experience required
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Must have reliable transportation
