HCCC Curators

Take a break with HCCC, and join us for Craft Chats, a new series of short lunchtime conversations with our curators. From wherever you are, we invite you to tune into our Facebook Live page to explore themes and works from our current exhibitions. Ask questions via the Facebook chat function, and learn more about the exhibiting artists. This brief deep dive will leave you feeling inspired and ready to continue your day!

The use of “curate” as a verb is now commonplace in mainstream vocabulary. You can “curate” your social media account. Celebrity chefs “curate” menus. In museums, we use “curate” to talk about putting together an exhibition–whether it be at a science museum or an art space. But have you ever wondered what a curator actually does? Join HCCC Curator Kathryn Hall and Curatorial Fellow Maria-Elisa Heg to dive into the ins and outs of curating. Bring us your questions about their roles as curators, as well as the everyday work they do at HCCC.
