Explore the art of embroidery at this month’s Hands-on Houston! Learn how to thread a kid-friendly needle and design your own composition using a hoop and burlap (a beginner-friendly loose weave cloth). Add interesting shapes and textures to your artwork using yarn and beads, and leave with a finished hoop ready to hang in your home!

Note: Please allow 20 minutes to complete this activity. The event will take place indoors and is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

This program was financially assisted by Impact100 Houston.

HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free drop-in event held the first Saturday of every month (except in July). Each month, a teaching artist or guild demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. Community members of all ages are welcome to come any time between 11 AM and 3 PM and participate in a 20 –25-minute activity. Materials are provided. This program supports HCCC’s mission to inspire and connect people to the art and process of making. Learn more here.
