Breathe new life into old sterling-silver scraps by making a lovely, organically shaped ring with HCCC’s Tarina Frank and former resident artist Corey Ackelmire. First, carve your ring size into a block of charcoal, and shape the scrap silver into a ring. Using a torch to melt down the silver, form it into a unique shape. Then, gently shape your ring on a mandrel with a hammer and finish by sanding and polishing. The result is a one-of-a-kind ring made just for you!
Note: The workshop takes place in person and inside the HCCC building. Participants will leave with one sterling-silver ring. Space is limited to a maximum of 15 participants. This event is subject to change or cancellation in response to current COVID-19 conditions.
HCCC wishes to thank Betty Moody for her generous donation of the silver and metalsmithing tools used for this workshop.
