Please join HCCC for the Opening Reception of Artist Hall exhibition BEST IF USED BY, where artist Celia Butler will unveil her finished installation “Sugar Bucket.” At 3:30, there will be a Q&A between Celia and Curatorial Fellow Sarah Darro. A reception will follow with curated bites by Morningstar Donuts and Sweetcup Gelato.

About Celia Butler
Butler holds an MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2011 and a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute in 2007. She received a Creative Promise Award from the Surface Design Association 2007 as well as the Susan Lordi and Dennis Marker Award for Excellence in Fiber in 2005-2007. She was a finalist for the Mercedes-Benz Emerging Artist Award in 2011. With a background in textiles, Butler has been a consultant in that industry and was Fashion Director for a major yarn company. She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
