Take a lunch break with HCCC, and join HCCC Curator Kathryn Hall on Facebook Live to take a closer look at the alternative firing processes used by ceramicists James C. Watkins and Anna Mayer in their current exhibitions, Texas Masters Series: James C. Watkins and Forms of Inheritance: The Work of Anna Mayer. Learn about saggar firing, fuming, and obvara firing and how these techniques are used to create abstract and expressive surfaces. Following the exhibition tour, the audience is invited to participate in a live Q&A with Kathryn.

Craft Chats is a series of short lunchtime conversations with our curatorial staff and special guests. From wherever you are, we invite you to tune into our Facebook Live page to explore themes and works from our current exhibitions. Ask questions via the Facebook chat function, and learn more about the artwork on view. This brief deep dive will leave you feeling inspired and ready to continue your day!
