HCCC Curators

Join HCCC Curator Kathryn Hall, as she explores the ceramics of Texas Master James C. Watkins and provides a behind-the-scenes look at how the artist’s solo exhibition came together as a way to honor his significant contributions to the field of ceramics. Kathryn will explore the exemplary works that highlight Watkins’ masterful alternative firing techniques and discuss his extraordinary career as an educator and ceramicist in Lubbock, Texas. Following the exhibition tour, the audience is invited to participate in a live Q & A.

Craft Chats is a series of short lunchtime conversations with our staff and special guests. From wherever you are, we invite you to tune into our Facebook Live page to explore themes and works from our current exhibitions. Ask questions via the Facebook chat function, and learn more about the exhibiting artists. This brief deep dive will leave you feeling inspired and ready to continue your day!
