Experience the captivating world of balloon-character sculpting, inspired by our current exhibition Max Adrian: RIPSTOP! Witness the extraordinary transformation of Max Adrian’s sculptures as they come to life through the magic of air. Unleash your creativity and explore various shapes and designs by inflating and twisting your own balloon, pushing the limits of what can be achieved with air-filled latex. Bring your balloon characters to life by adding features such as eyes, ears, and tails. What kind of character will you be inspired to create?

Be sure not to miss a special addition this month: a bouncy house inspired by the exhibition for our visitors between 3 and 12 years old!  Space and bounce time will be limited to ensure everyone’s safety.

Note: This making activity will take place indoors and is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The bouncy house will be located outdoors, in the HCCC parking lot. In case of heavy rain, the bouncy house will be canceled; however, indoor hands-on activities will continue.

HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free drop-in event held the first Saturday of every month. Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. Families and children of all ages are welcome to come any time between 11 AM and 3 PM and participate in a 15 – 20-minute activity. Materials are provided. This program supports HCCC’s mission to advance education about the process, product, and history of craft. Learn more here.
