Join Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for Craft Social, a night of making and exploring contemporary craft over conversation and refreshments.
This month, participants will explore unique uses for spices in art and daily life. Learn to dye fabric using edible pigments, like turmeric, beets and teas, and use shibori techniques to design intricate patterns by twisting, folding, and tying a plain cotton fabric in different ways.
At 6:30 PM, join Mary Cuclis, the kitchen manager for Houston restaurant Pondicheri for a brief presentation. Learn how this innovative Indian restaurant experiments with spices through masala tastings, and discover how to make the spices in your dishes pop!
About Craft Social
