This month, join HCCC and current resident artist Zoe Gross to explore paper sculptures by creating your own paper pods, inspired by Zoe’s ceramic and paper practice. Learn how to translate a 2D idea into 3D, and practice your color-theory skills as you select complementary colors for your project. Experiment with repetition and multiplies as you arrange your paper pods into a composition, and discover how you can combine pods as a family unit to create a more complicated object.

Note: Please allow 25 minutes to complete this activity. The activity will take place outdoors and is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.

HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free drop-in event held the first Saturday of every month. Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. Families and children of all ages are welcome to come any time between 11 AM and 3 PM and participate in a 15 – 20-minute activity. Materials are provided.
