Join HCCC, ClayHouston and the Glassell Ceramic Department for talks by ceramic artist and 2015 NCECA Emerging Artist, Kelly O’Briant, and Dan Hammett, Chair and Professor of Ceramic Art at the University of Dallas and juror of Nourish: ClayHouston Membership Exhibition (on view in the Artist Hall at HCCC). Kelly will discuss her new installation, one day, late in the afternoon. . . (on view in HCCC’s Front Gallery), and Dan will discuss the University of Dallas REGIONAL Ceramics Competition in his talk, “A View of Texas Clay.”  The eight-state competition offers the opportunity for ceramic artists to exhibit their work in the highly charged metropolitan area of north Texas and offers insights into the pulse of American ceramics.  The talks take place at the Freed Auditorium at the Glassell School of Art and will be followed by an awards ceremony and reception for Nourish award winners and participants.
