Join CraftTexas 2025 exhibiting artist Clara Hoag for a fun, ceramic face-sculpting workshop! Whether you’re new to clay or want to add a unique skill to your ceramic toolkit, Hoag will guide you through the steps of creating a realistic ceramic face.

Discover Hoag’s process and inspiration behind her work In Over Your Head (2024), which combines architecture and abstract shapes with the human form to visually describe the body-mind experience. Then, experiment with various sculpting techniques and tools and add underglaze to bring your work to life. The finished faces can be hung on the wall or displayed as a standalone sculpture!

Please note that all sculptures will remain at HCCC to dry and be kiln-fired. Finished ceramics will be ready for pickup approximately two weeks after the workshop. Participants will receive an email notification from HCCC staff once their pieces are available for pick up. Space is limited to 15 participants, so early registration is encouraged.
