Join HCCC to celebrate recycled and found materials by designing and creating your own mosaic tile! Choose from a variety of discarded pieces of plates and tiles to create an abstract composition that fits together harmoniously. Experiment with different sizes, colors, and patterns, as you search for the perfect pieces to fill your mosaic. Glue down your pieces, and then finish your tile at home, using grout to solidify the design and allow it to be displayed indoors or outdoors.

Note:  This activity is on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. The event is subject to change or cancellation in response to current COVID-19 conditions.

HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free drop-in event held the first Saturday of every month. Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. Families and children of all ages are welcome to come any time between 11 AM and 3 PM and participate in a 15 – 20-minute activity. Materials are provided. This program supports HCCC’s mission to advance education about the process, product, and history of craft. Learn more here.

Hands-on Houston is generously supported by Strake Foundation.
