At this year’s Crafting a Legacy Spring Luncheon, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft is pleased to honor Mariquita Masterson for her singular talent and dedication to Houston’s creative community.

The program will include remarks by event chair Libbie Masterson and HCCC Executive Director Perry Price. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on artworks made by celebrated craft artists in the silent auction, purchase stunning centerpiece sculptures designed by Charles Masterson, and shop fabulous accessories in the Asher Gallery pop-up shop.

Since establishing her unique voice in jewelry three decades ago, Mariquita Masterson’s colorful glass pieces remain de rigueur in Houston among all with an affinity for the handmade. Often described as vivid, unique, and energetic, her beautifully crafted jewelry unites the everyday with the exceptional—characteristics shared with the designer herself.

Proceeds from the Spring Luncheon will benefit HCCC and its mission to advance education on the process, product, and history of craft. From showcasing extraordinary artistic talent in exhibitions and programs to introducing children to contemporary craft through hands-on workshops and supporting the development of working artists through its Artist Residency program, HCCC has served as a treasured resource in the Houston arts community and the region for more than 16 years.

Online ticket purchase is now closed.  To inquire about availability, please call Suzanne Sippel at 713-529-4848 x 106 or email  legacy@crafthouston.org.
