HCCC is honored to partner with Steinbeisser—the visionary, Amsterdam-based, experimental gastronomy studio—to present a landmark culinary and craft experience celebrating HCCC’s 25th anniversary!
The first of its kind in Texas and one of only a handful of Steinbeisser events to take place in the United States, the Silver Anniversary Dinner pairs Michelin-starred chefs from from Tatemó (Houston) and Nicōsi (San Antonio) with acclaimed craft artists to create an immersive dining experience grounded in material innovation and the handmade. Following Steinbeisser’s renowned format, the evening’s food and drinks are entirely plant based, seasonal, and sourced from local organic and biodynamic farmers.
HCCC Curator Sarah Darro has chosen a handful of artists from the U.S. and beyond to create unique cutlery, glassware, and servingware that celebrate experimentation and offer guests new ways to enjoy food. All servingware will be available for purchase at the end of the dinner, offering guests the rare opportunity to take home a piece of this exceptional collaboration and fundraising event. Remaining items can be purchased by the general public beginning October 24th.
The dinner will take place in the main gallery, in the midst of the fall exhibition, A Material Inheritance. The show, which examines silver as material and metaphor, presents works spanning traditional metalsmithing and jewelry making as well as experimental glass, ceramic, and kinetic media practices that reveal silver’s remarkable conceptual and material range.
All guests will be seated together at one long table to enjoy an unforgettable, communal dining experience.
