Happy New Year!  Come and join us for the first HANDS-ON HOUSTON of 2013. Be prepared to question different ways a book can be made and what it can look like.  Create a mini-accordion book that can be a hanging piece of decorative art, a sketchbook, necklace or perhaps a key chain that doubles up as a notebook. No matter how you use it, this is a lovely art piece you’ll want to hang on to!

Current metal/fiber HCCC resident artist, Tarina Frank, will lead participants in this contemporary book-arts activity. Learn more about Tarina here.

HANDS-ON HOUSTON is a free craft-activity open house on the first Saturday of every month. Each month, a teaching artist demonstrates a craft related to the current exhibitions. We provide the materials, and you provide the creativity! Families and children of all ages are welcome, and materials are provided. This program supports HCCC’s mission to advance education about the process, product and history of craft.
