Please join Asher Gallery for a chat with current resident artists, Jera Rose Petal Lodge and Rena Wood, as they demonstrate the methods used in creating their sophisticated adornments. While you can frequently observe them at work in their studios, at this event, they will highlight specific techniques. Rena will explain the tying and folding she uses for her shibori scarves, and Jera will show the wire working that forms the heart of her style.

Jera Rose Petal Lodge is a jewelry designer working in steel and silver wire-based artworks. Her pieces range from small-scale production and limited-edition works to large-scale sculptural jewelry pieces. Design and function are her primary concerns, and the strength and durability of steel allow her to create forms that are lightweight and visually delicate, yet sturdy and easily wearable.

Working primarily with textile materials and processes, Rena Wood’s work gives physical form to the ephemeral sense of memory. The time Wood spends working is marked by each fold, each knot, and each repetitive act of her hands. You can find this expressed in her scarves and in her reconstructed fiber installations.

While you’re in Asher, be sure to check out our Members’ Spotlight Sale. Each month, we will feature select artists at a great discount for our members. You never know what you might find!
