Image of Sarah Welch's zines for demo event

In celebration of the fall exhibition, Copy Culture: Zines Made and Shared, join HCCC for Copy Fest, a celebration of all things zine related, as well as a demo by exhibiting artist Sarah Welch.

Browse unique, small-run and one-of-a-kind art, zines, prints, stickers, pins, t-shirts and more at this outdoor zine market, co-organized with Zine Fest Houston, in the Craft Garden. Learn about Houston’s own self-publishing festival, Zine Fest Houston, and browse wares by Houston-based vendors, including Mystic Multiples, The Center for Imaginative Cartography and Research, and Mirchek Comics.

Then, explore Copy Culture: Zines Made and Shared, on view in HCCC’s Front Gallery, where illustrator and comics artist Sarah Welch will be demonstrating simple zine projects in the workspace. Learn how Sarah makes her zines, and try your hand at making and copying your own zine!

Note: This event is subject to cancellation in response to current COVID-19 conditions. The market takes place in person and outside in the HCCC Craft Garden, while the demo takes place inside. All visitors must wear a mask when inside the HCCC building and practice social distancing during the event.
